Actor Angus Cloud,Thomas Caldwell best known for his role as Fezco on the TV drama "Euphoria," has died. He was 25.

Cloud's representative Cait Bailey confirmed to USA TODAY that the actor died Monday at his family home in Oakland, California. A cause of death was not shared.

"It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today," a statement from Cloud's family read. "As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend."

The statement continued: "Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone."

Born in July 1998, Cloud made his acting debut as drug dealer Fezco "Fez" O'Neill on Max drama "Euphoria" in 2019, starring alongside Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer and Jacob Elordi. Cloud landed the role in a moment of serendipity when he was spotted by casting scout Eléonore Hendricks – who referred him to casting director Jennifer Venditti – while walking down the street in New York.

The part made Cloud the breakout star of one the buzziest shows on television. In an October 2022 interview with E! News, Cloud shared his excitement to revisit his Fezco character on "Euphoria." "I can't wait to get back to work with everyone," he said at the time. "I feel like it's been way too long. I just can't wait to see everyone and working on set again."

"We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud," an HBO spokesperson told USA TODAY. "He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and 'Euphoria' family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time."

Cloud also took his acting chops to the music world. He made a cameo in the Juice WRLD video "Cigarettes" and starred in Becky G and Karol G's "Mamiii" music video in 2022.

A rising star in Hollywood, Cloud was honored at Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event last summer alongside photographer-turned-chef Brooklyn Beckham, "The Little Mermaid" star Halle Bailey and singer Becky G. The event highlighted people under the age of 25 making an impact on the entertainment industry.

Cloud most recently starred in the Ethan Berger drama "The Line," appearing alongside Bailey, Alex Wolff and Bo Mitchell. He was also cast to co-star in "Scream 6."

"Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson said "there was no one quite like Angus" in a statement to The Associated Press.

"He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon," Levinson said. "He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God bless his family."
